JD Salinger

I believe producers should have the right to make a movie about Catcher in the Rye. I think it should be made into a movie because I think it is selfish of Salinger to not want his writings shown. If you are a good writer let other people see what you can do and appreciate it. But then again he has his rights to keep secrets about his life if he truely wants to.

Other Shoes (:

English III Honors
Group Members: Raegan and Lexy

Plan/Hypothesis:
Lexy and I have decided to walk around wearing fake mustaches. This group would represent women who are out of the ordinary or just women who have facial hair. Normally women who wear mustaches get a reaction because it is unusual. We don’t have mustaches so we figured this was perfect. To get reactions we plan on walking around public places wearing out mustaches over the weekend. We will learn that people who are unordinary cause reactions. We are going to record this by writing all of the reactions down after they happen. If people don’t react then we’ll go to a different place and try again.

Wal-mart Journal:
Lexy and I first went to Wal-mart. We chose to go to Wal-mart on Monday because it was Labor Day. Places like that are usually crowded, which it was. I wore the mustache and Lexy walked behind me like she didn't know me. We chose to record by her walking behind so nobody got suspicious. At Wal-mart, only about 5 people actually stared at the mustache, and one person asked if I was trying to make fun of women that have facial hair. I politely told them about the project we were doing and they understood and walked away. All in all, people stared more than anything

Plains vs Rochester Soccer Game Journal:
Later that night Lexy and I decided to go to the soccer game in Rochester with our mustaches on. This time we both had them on and my boyfriend recorded it for us sitting a couple seats away. This experience was much different considering it was a high school sporting event. We got more of the reactions we predicted. About 2 people asked us if they were real and how did we both grow mustaches together. Again, we politely told them about our project and they understood. Not even 20 minutes later these 2 little kids decided to come pull my mustache. Now if I was a man with it, little kids wouldn't come pull it, but since I am a girl they had to see if it was real. All in all, more people got physical with it.

Analysis:
This project has been the most uncomfortable project we have ever been in. It made us realize how others feel when they get stared at by how they look or act. We didn't mind wearing the mustaches, but the reactions were unbearable. At first it was too bad until people decided to get physical. If our mustaches were real and somebody tried pulling it we probably would have gotten offended. Lexy and I wanted more stares than have people get physical. We didn't exactly get the reactions we wanted. If we would have done it at homecoming like planned, then we most likely would have gotten the reactions we wanted. Lexy and I have learned that people get judged by what they look like or how they act and it is wrong. Nobody is the same and we shouldn't judge people because of that. Everybody needs to accept everybody for who they really are.
